What this site measures, what it does not collect, and what we do with anything you send us.

Who we are

Studio Brio Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 14898658, is the data controller for this website. Email hello@studiobr.io with any question about your data.

Analytics

We use Fathom Analytics to understand how this site is used. Fathom is cookieless and does not track individuals across sites or devices. It measures page views, referrers, and aggregated traffic data only.

We also run the LinkedIn Insight Tag, so we can tell whether our LinkedIn posts and campaigns bring people here. It is an advertising script. It sets cookies, and LinkedIn can recognise you on other sites that run the same tag. It reports visits and totals to us, never a named person.

You can switch it off. LinkedIn's advertising opt-out covers every site that runs the tag. Blocking third-party cookies in your browser, or using a tracking blocker, stops it here as well.

The Insight Tag is the only thing on this site that sets cookies, and the only advertising script we run. There is nothing else following you around.

When you contact us

Every email address on this site is a mailto link. Writing to us opens a message in your own mail client and is sent from there, so the site itself collects and stores nothing you type. There is no contact form.

If you email or call us, we keep your name, your contact details and what you tell us, so that we can reply and, if we go on to work together, run the project. While we are talking, that is a legitimate interest of the business. Once we are working together, it is part of our contract with you.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries that do not lead to work for up to two years, then delete them. Records of client work stay for six years after the project ends, which is what UK tax and accounting rules ask of us.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or trade personal data. The providers that run our email, hosting and accounting process data on our behalf, under their own security terms. Some of them store data outside the UK; where they do, they work under safeguards recognised by UK data protection law. We share data with the authorities only when the law requires it.

LinkedIn is the exception. Through the Insight Tag described above, LinkedIn receives your visit as its own controller and uses it under its own privacy policy, not ours.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can:

  • ask for a copy of the data we hold about you
  • ask us to correct it
  • ask us to delete it
  • ask us to limit how we use it, or object to a use
  • ask for it in a form you can take elsewhere

Email hello@studiobr.io and we will respond within one month. If you are not happy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
